Fix Location Errors

There are three reasons why a location error may occur. Location errors result in the status bar displaying “ERROR” in red text.

1. Location services are disabled. Location services must be enabled generally and for this app. To enable location services, go to the main Settings app on your device. Then choose Privacy -> Location Services and verify that location services are enabled.
2. Your device is in airplane mode. Despite the GPS not being a transmitter, it is disabled in airplane mode. If you wish to find your location, turn off airplane mode (assuming it is safe to do so).
3. GPS signal strength is exceptionally weak. If you are indoors, in a shielded location, or beneath very heavy vegetation your device may not be able to get a location fix. To fix this, move to a location where your device has a clear view of the sky.
